Sustainability in sound

A greener set is a better set. Find out my approach to sustainable sound.

Transport

Getting to set can be one of the biggest impacts on emissions. Where possible, I’ll take public transport; otherwise, I’ll use other means. Such as EV, this allows me to travel and lower my overall impact to the environment.

Power

Within the sound department, we utilise a lot of power. From powering the mixer to running the body-worn transmitters. With my access to solar panels, this gives me the ability to cut my reliance on the grid for charging. Creating a green and more sustainable sound department on your set.

Storage

In a world of ever-growing servers, utilising litres of water to cool them. I’m working with Nextcloud to host my files locally, with my own in-house server. Powered by solar and without the cooling demands of a traditional server.

Albert

Many productions these days use Albert as their guidelines for a green set environment. I will always work with production to achieve their Albert status, and fill in any required documents and supply evidence of my commitment to a green set life.
